On March 19, members of The 4th Branch board of directors headed to the NC Legislature to ask members of the General Assembly to support equal tax treatment for ALL government retirees. Specifically, they asked for support of HB 213 “Equal Tax Treatment of Gov’t Retirees,” which was introduced on February 27, 2019. The bill would address the unfair tax issue faced by our advocates (and many others) – taxation of government retirement benefits.
The 4th Branch team was joined by dozens of other like-minded citizens from a host of partner organizations, including:
- The Federal Retiree Task Force
- NARFE – NC Federation (National Active and Retired Federal Employees Assoc.)
- SEANC
- NC Retired Governmental Employees’ Assoc.
- MOAA (Military Officers Assoc. of America)
- NC Retired School Personnel
- NC State Firefighter’s Assoc.
- NC Assoc. of Educators
