The 4th Branch monitors action at the legislature that impacts tax policy for our state's government retirees. Listed below is any legislation of interest.

S4: Eliminate Tax on Gov't Retirees

Primary Sponsor: Sen. Jim Burgin (R-Harnett, Johnston, Lee)

Additional Sponsors: Sen. Gayle Adcock (D-Wake), Sen. Lisa Grafstein (D-Wake), Sen. Rachel Hunt (D-Mecklenburg), Sen. DeAndrea Salvador (D-Mecklenburg);  Sen. Benton Sawrey (R-Johnston), Sen. Joyce Waddell (D-Mecklenburg), and Sen. Mike Woodard (D-Durham)

Support: S4 would extend the same equitable tax treatment to ALL local, state, federal retirees, with at least 20 years of service.

H46: Eliminate Tax on Gov't Retirees
